Hi, I am Marisé

Maria Jose (Marisé) Galvez Trigo

Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Cardiff University

I am Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University, where I am member of the Human-Centred Computing Research Section and its Subgroup in Computational and Human-centred Robotics.

I am part of the National Software Academy and the Module Lead for Agile Software Development in our MSc in Software Engineering.

I am part of the management team of EMPOWER, a support network for current and aspiring Principal Investigators that identify as women at Cardiff University.

At the School of Computer Science and Informatics I am also Deputy Director for Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

I have a multi-disciplinary profile with a background in Computer Science, Engineering (BEng, MSc), Human Factors and Rehabilitation and Health Care research (PhD). I am interested in Robotics, Human-Robot Interaction, Human-Computer Interaction and applications of Machine Learning in those areas, with accessibility and participatory research/co-design as key aspects of my research.

Although my work spans various areas, I am mostly interested in Rehabilitation and Assistive Robotics and Educational Robotics.
